Ellacoya Enhances VoIP Support
Service control supplier Ellacoya Networks Inc. introduced a new voice-over-IP (VoIP) software package for its switching platform last month. The solution, available with the company's 5.8 software release, offers deeper packet inspection capabilities for SIP, H.323 and MGCP applications. This way, the Ellacoya IP Service Control System can identify, classify and prioritize these applications on a per subscriber and VoIP provider basis. Ellacoya is able to provide this functionality directly through its switches or by supporting a standards-based PacketCable Multimedia (PCMM) implementation.
